Why have a Pre-deployment or Pre-placement Medical?

Whilst in employment, an employer may require an employee to be deployed in another part of the world, or undertake different roles from the one initially engaged in.

Employers have a legal responsibility to ensure that the employee is fit to undertake a new role or be deployed at a particular location and that such undertaking will not adversely affect any existing health conditions.


What would Pre-deployment or Pre-placement Medical entail?

In most cases all that may be required is a consultation, but additional testing and vaccinations may be indicated.

What information does an employer obtain following a Pre-deployment or Pre-placement Medical?

Employers will be provided with information regarding the fitness of their employee to undertake their new role or ability to work in a particular location.
